As a promotional tool to drive targeted traffic to your web site, article writing is considered one of the key tools that should be employed. Promoting your site via the use of fresh, new articles or those from article directories has become very popular and convenient. This system works well because new articles are wanted by the search engines who are attempting to please their users. Even though most people use the Internet as a giant database, search engines treat it like a massive information resource. It is a good idea to understand what it is the search engines are looking for, so rewriting an article automatically makes it something the search engines want, unique content.

Many people prefer to write their own articles though and if you are one of those then here are a few tips you may want to consider. Determine your topic first and then type in some keywords into a search engine, related to the subject and obtain enough information to write an article. Once you have your material, it’s important that you set it out correctly, with an introduction, a middle section, which will probably contain the core of the subject and a conclusion. The last section to your article does not need to be more than about four sentences just to sum up with the whole article about twenty sentences or so long or between four to five hundred words. To make the article more enjoyable to read, break it up into a few chunks or paragraphs, about four is ok and ad a box at the end with your information and links so you will get the credit for the work.

Using articles to promote your business or website is easy and profitable plus you may be asked to write articles for other internet marketers. One of the best ways I found was to write articles based on my own knowledge of a subject, in this instance photography, but only you will know what information you can give to others. Another starting point would be to use niche market subjects to write a range of articles on and where you could almost become an authority.

It’s important to remember that no matter how good your knowledge of a subject it is good practice to maintain a proper writing method. Article writers are by their very nature, prolific writers and your skills in this area will improve the more you write so that means writing on a daily basis. This is a tied and tested method and basically, the more writing you do, the better you become and so do the results of your efforts. I do not pretend that I can offer an approach to writing which will suit everyone, but my guidelines will help you to appreciate the technical issues involved in writing, and to decide on the approach you want to adopt in your own work.
